We were ranked as the third most popular UK site in the competitive “Food and Beverage - Restaurants and Catering” category.

The Hitwise awards are based on the anonymous online usage and search behaviour of almost 8.5 million UK internet users, the largest online sample of it’s kind. This means they’re a great indicator of public popularity.

The only slight disappointment is that we were ranked second in the same category for the whole of 2007, so we have dropped a place. Hopefully our new site will set us on the way to reaching the number one spot.

The busiest day, unsurprisingly, being Valentines Day with 32,768 unique visitors looking for a restaurant in the UK.

The site is in desperate need of a rewrite to add functionality and make the site more useful to the thousands of people who use it each day to find restaurants. It’s also in need of a redesign to update it’s looks, make it accessible and to get rid of that orange that seemed like a good idea in 2003.

We hope to go live in June.
